Our main services are

A free service for people aged 60 and over to advise, support, maintain, improve or adapt their homes. Specifically in the private sector, and largely funded by the Welsh Government. Specifically in the private sector, and largely funded by the Welsh Government.

Professional service of designing, planning, inspecting and supervising construction work, whether large or small. Servicing older or vulnerable clients. Servicing older or vulnerable clients.

A commercial service of carrying out appropriate adaptations in the homes of older or vulnerable people for them to maintain their independence.

Our history to date

The Gofal a Thrwsio (Care & Repair) service has been here locally since the late 1980s, and was part of the local housing association Cymdeithas Tai Eryri.

Canllaw (Eryri) Cyf was established as a subsidiary of of the Association in 2010 and maintained the two local Gofal a Thrwsio agencies at the time, namely Gofal a Thrwsio Gwynedd and Gofal a Thrwsio Môn. From April 2015 it was re-formed into one new Agency, Gofal a Thrwsio Gwynedd a Môn.

The company’s unique position evolved from the experiences, successes and expertise of the two local Gofal a Thrwsio Agencies. The ethos of the Gofal a Thrwsio service remains at the heart of the company in providing relevant housing services and solutions. The ethos has always been client centred, responding to problems and not entirely on repair and construction.

It shows that this holistic approach was a key factor in the success of the Gofal a Thrwsio service.

We are proud of our strong links we have developed with both local County Councils, the Health Board, and a number of local third sector and social enterprise organisations.

We are also recognised nationally for the work we deliver, through Care & Repair Cymru and the services commissioned by the Welsh Government.

Governance arrangement

Canllaw (Eryri) Cyf. is a subsidiary of Grŵp Cynefin. The company was formed in 2010. Canllaw (Eryri) Cyf. is a company limited by guarantee, charity and registered with the Welsh Government.

The business of the Company is directed by a voluntary Board of Management. Responsibility for the operational management of the Company is delegated to the Chief Officer who is assisted by the Management Team consisting of the Gofal a Thrwsio Manager, Canllaw Addasu Co-ordinator, and Canllaw Technegol Co-ordinator. The business operates internally through the medium of Welsh.
